The "Heart of the Ottawa Valley" is situated on the banks of the Ottawa River and was founded as a centre for the lumber industry. Over the past two decades it has changed from a resource based to a knowledge based economy.
The City is in the middle of the white water country, with 5 rafting and kayaking companies located within 1/2 hr. drive. It is also known as Hockey Town Canada, and is home to the annual Silver Stick Hockey Tournament every November. Just 75 min. west of Ottawa, it is a natural haven for outdoor enthusiasts, and a spectacular place to call home. |
